Too shy...

Here's the deal...

I weighed/measured/took pictures on Jan 6th and Feb 6th, and once i saw the initial pictures i knew i couldn't post them on the internet.  Oh, the shame!

BUT

After a month of eating this way - i have lost five pounds (the first week, and nothing since then), and added one inch?  How?

I was so sad...

And then i got my husband to complete the humiliation by taking the Feb pictures, and man, something is weird.  Because there is a big difference in those pictures.

Maybe it's just that my posture is getting better?  But while the scales and the tape aren't giving me much love, the camera decided to be my friend this month.

I'll stick it out for another month and see if we can't break on through...

 What do you think?

  1. there is definitely a noticeable difference! You can't forget that muscle weighs more too so the weight is just distributed better that's all! I seriously don't put much stock in weight but how I look and feel...I'm weak and don't feel full of life right now, despite that I'm at the weight I like...sigh...you are doing awesome! that's what I think!

  6. Your arm -- for one, looks much thinner... it's all the exercise I am sure. And muscle might be denser, Lori-Dawn, but a pound of fat and a pound of muscle weighs exactly the same thing... 16 ounces, or one pound!

  8. I have to agree with the other commenters: you're definitely getting somewhere. Have you tried measuring body fat? Kind of a pain in the neck to do accurately, but probably your most useful measure.

In your previous posts you mentioned no white flour--but I although he expresses it poorly, Ferriss is (I am convinced) actually saying :::no grains at all::: (except on your off-day, of course). Whole grains still supply all the carbs white grains do, just with added protein and fiber--and while protein and fiber are great, they don't prevent you from getting those carbs. My understanding is that the "nothing that can be white" part means "not even whole grain flour, brown rice, etc., since there are 'white' versions of those." You'll notice he doesn't speak once in those chapters of actually eating grains or starches except on the off-day, and his restaurant formula is to substitute veggies for the starch, not to get whole grains. This may be why your weight isn't going down, even though your body composition seems to be changing in a good way.

    Good luck!

  9. I must have misunderstood your "no white flour" comment, because it sounds as though you're not eating any grains at all as I read back. Sorry, unneeded advice. I'd delete it, but there doesn't seem to be an option to do so. Regardless, hope it goes well!

  10. Way to go! You look great! Would you be willing to just say hi on my blog so i can find you back when I get home from vacation? I'm on my husband's laptop and can't follow you until we get home and I'm afraid I won't find you back!
